Foil Labels

A foil label can add a touch of elegance to almost any item. Foil labels are typically used for visual impact and for decorative labeling of products. With their rich metallic shine and vibrant colors, foil labels can enhance shelf-appeal, improve brand status and make a product stand out from other similar products.

Self-adhesive foil labels are usually made from thin gauge, paper-backed aluminum face stocks. The face stocks typically are available in shiny, dull or brushed gold or brushed silver colors. However, foil labels can be tinted to any metallic color or spot color using the right inks. Most foil labels come with permanent adhesive backing designed for both high surface energy applications and low surface energy applications.

Metallic material such as paper-backed aluminum foil, Mylar and metalized polypropylene often provide the most cost effective stocks for foil labels. These materials allow label makers to simulate gold, copper, bronze or other materials. They offer a cost-effective alternative to cold-foil for adding a shiny look to labels.
